Nissan is a well-known brand in the car industry, manufacturing EV-segmented vehicles with proper safety features and build quality. Recently, the 2023 Nissan Ariya, a new electric midsize SUV, was awarded Top Safety Pick Plus by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. In this test, Nissan Ariya has left its competing brands behind.
Vehicles manufactured after March 2023 that meet the required standards qualify for the top-tier award and earn the standard Front Crash Prevention System Superior rating.
The Ariya’s standard front crash prevention system earned superior ratings in vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations both day and night. Under which vehicles are rated both day and night for pedestrians, while a second alternative system earns an improved daytime rating and an improved nighttime rating after adjustments made to the aiming of headlights in March, all LED projectors supplied with trims are considered acceptable before the changes.
An optional system is available after adjustments to the headlights’ aim were made in March, earning better daytime ratings and advanced nighttime ratings. The headlights received a marginal rating to qualify for a Top Safety Pick. To qualify for Top Safety Pick Plus in 2023, the Nissan Ariya must have good ratings in various crash tests.
